Princeton is a small city in Western Green Lake County, with a population of 1200. Princeton makes up for its size with the friendliest and most accepting community anyone could find. Besides being hardworking, Princeton residents like to have Fun! They live in the right place, as Fun is Princeton's middle name! Princeton offers many different things for all kinds of people. Princeton is located 70 miles north of Madison and less than two hours from Green Bay and Milwaukee. Being located on the Fox River, Princeton is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy abundant natural resources. Fishing, hunting, canoeing, golfing, cycling, camping, and many other forms of outdoor recreation are readily available for all to enjoy. Transportation links, which include Highway 39 and Interstate 90/94 to the west, Highway 41 to the east, and Highway 151 to the southeast provide easy access to Madison, Green Bay and Milwaukee. Wittman Regional Airport in nearby Oshkosh and Milwaukee's General Mitchell International Airport both serve the community.
The City of Princeton strives to maintain its small-town qualities of friendliness and family orientation, while encouraging economic growth to position the community for the future. Princeton boasts a quaint downtown featuring strong traditional architecture and numerous specialty shops to peruse. Visitors will find antiques, locally made pottery, jewelry, boutique clothing, candles, wine & cheese, Amish furniture, earth-friendly items, custom framing, books, baked goods, and folk art. Princeton also had the largest outdoor flea market in the state that runs from mid April through mid October for the season. The flea market brings upwards of 70,000 visitors through the community, providing an important event to look forward to on Saturdays.
The Princeton School District, Consisting of Princeton High School, Middle School, and Elementary School, is recognized for excellence in education. St. John's Catholic Schools is also a highly accredited K-8 school. In just a short drive are numerous schools of higher education. Moraine Park Technical College, Ripon College, UW-Oshkosh, and UW-Madison are just a few of these institutions.
