Run For Sam: This 10K Run/Walk and 1-Mile Run on July 13, 2024 is a fundraiser for a scholarship fund for someone in the medical field. This run was established in memory of the VFW member Sam Hennessee. Sam Hennessee was a Vietnam Veteran, and a very active part of the Princeton community. During the war Sam acted as a helicopter technical inspector, but it is what he did after the war that really defines him. Sam and his wife moved to Princeton in 1999. Though he was only here for 11 years, Sam has changed everyone and everything he came into contact with for the better. He was a person that would help all who asked and ask nothing in return. In 2010 Sam started having massive head pain, and found out he had brain cancer. Although Sam is no longer with us, his dedication, and kind heart has left us all with a reason to smile. Every year the city of Princeton host's this event to not only honor, but to preserve the memory of someone always willing to give of themselves. This event is located at the VFW hall and grounds.
